| I hope I didn't kill my lipo.
I know, I know. I shouldn't be running without a cut-off! But hey. I was! I've always timed my runs and thats worked fine. Today I got lazy. I was driving and all of a sudden the servos started acting slow and sluggish. and I thought the throttle was a bit too. I realized I was cutting it real close and shut her down immediately. It's a 2s pack, and when I plugged it into the charger, the charger read 6.2volts. Its a lightmax 2450mah 2s lipo, charging with a turnigy accucell 6. It seems to be charging just fine so-far, I've just NEVER seen a lipo lose power like that before. Does a drained lipo just not charge? or is this when they go FALLOUT style? |

Having 6.2 volts means an average of 3.1 VPC.....you are likely OK if they are fairly even. Charge them up and see what happens. May want to be a bit more carefull of this pack until you see it behave. |

Ultra cheap lansu esc used by redcat. I knew 6.2v was okay, but I figured it dropped below that for a minute as I was climbing uphill, had 4w steer on, and three wheels in a bind at the time. It was drawing some amps for sure. 1540 mahs so far, and no fireworks |

You can use an external lipo cut-off like the Novak Smart Stop

Your fine.. When they are at the "cutoff" voltage the packs go flat like you described.. I ran without a cutoff for along time and never had any issue's to speak of with over discharge.. Honestly I usually stop driving now before the cutoffs kick because of all the years driving without one I can tell right away when a pack is close to cutoff... |

It sounds like your ESC has a built in voltage cutoff.... |

So long as it isn't a really deep over discharge and it only happens once or twice in the life of a pack, it will bounce back no problem. I accidently ran a lipo down in my F1 car to the point where it barely moved at all, and it came back no problem.
