Default winch help

hello all i just got my 4 pl and watched harleys video on setting it up but as soon as i plug it in it spooled in and snapped the wire and if i try to spool out it just stops and vibrates its a bulldog winch from rc4wd anyone else have this problem i need help thanks Rob

It sounds like you have your set points set wrong on the channel you are using for your winch.. I would on Harley he will be able to tell you for sure an tell you how to fix it.. He will respond to you and explain very clearly.. He's a huge help and helped me with my 4pl

You need to be sure the channel is working properly, here's a way to do it:

The channel feeding the winch needs to have three positions. You can verify that by plugging a servo into that channel and make sure that you can send the servo to either end and also stop it in the center. The end points might need to be set to the 100% area. If there is a center adjustment, make sure it is in the middle.
Once you can be sure that the channel will give you full left, full right and center, plug in the winch instead of the servo.

Another thing you can try that you might be able to do a little faster is just plug the winch into the steering channel and move your steering to make sure it operates. The same notes about end points and centering apply.

See if that gets you going.
