Exclamation QUESTION about hitec servo

Looking at servos for my wraith the 7950 or the 7980. It says the 7980 is 10% bigger then a standard servo. Has anyone used the 7980 and had any fitment problems. Would it fit the vp chassis servo mount.

the 7950 will be plenty strong enough without having to deal with the oversize of the 7980.

+1.

A few have used the larger servos (like the 7980) but there is not the parts support for it compared to a "standard" sized servo. Things like mounts & guards, space may be an issue, etc.
If you like fabbing bits, go for it, but it's getting beyond worth it for the increase in servo torque.
You should also run an external BEC to get the most out of it.

Sounds like your set on the 7950 which is a great choice but just wanted to throw out that the 7955 is a fantastic choice as well and wont have any trouble throwing around a wraith. My 5955 (same specs as the 7955) throws 40 series mashers on beadlocks around just fine on my Summit.. Its a bit cheaper than the 7950 and still puts out approx 416oz and .12s @ 7.4v..
