Default Deans or lilo issue?

I'm new to lipos. Bought 2 lipos from hobbyking. One works great.

The issue i am having is i changed everything to deans. Including my motor wires on my MOA rig. One battery performs flawlessly. The second will not even power up my rig.

Batteries are 3s 1300mah turnigys.

The battery not working has all cells balanced to 4.20 and a charge of 12.57 volts. I have resoldered a deans plug onto it and still nothing.

I'm confused as to the charger recognizing the battery but the rig doesn't. Help lol. I only have these two batteries.

That is a strange one, do you have a multimeter? If so check to see if the deans has power on the plug side. You charger may be getting its voltage reading from the balance tap rather than the power connectors.

I'd check voltage at the deans plug directly. I've had a battery charge up just fine but otherwise showed no power...cut the shrink wrap off and found the + wire broken off of the circuit board on top of the cells.

I tried these steps and finally found the issue. I am mind blow lol. Looked at the male end on my esc and notice it was alittle bent. Bent that sucker straight and viola, magic it works haha. My other lipo is charging so i am unsure if it will work now. Hopefully it still makes a connection.

Thank you for the assistance. Hopefully this will help someone in the future since i did not see any answers in my search.

Yea you probably melted the plastic on the connector when you soldered it. Its usually a good idea to put two plugs together when you solder them so it keeps everything lined up if you get it a little hot...Just be careful not to short out the open side if you have it hooked up to a battery!

Are you using real deans or knock offs? The deans I have have a spring inside that should prevent the problem you are having...

Real deans. I was alittle taken back when i saw it. Considering one female connector worked but the other didn't.
