Default metal shavings

Was just looking at my rtr honcho and found metal shavings around my motor. What could this be from, Im sure its not normal?

just above the axial logo on the frame and below the red and black wire is where it came from

I had a bunch of copper colored shavings build up on my skidplate, I assumed it was from the brushes wearing down. In for more info and an answer!

You know, the spot you're saying they were sort of stumps me.... I'll have to go look at an old motor to see how they could end up at that spot on the chassis.

Me too! i couldnt figure out where they would have come from, but i did see a little where the motors bolts up to the mounting plate on the gear side(right)

Were the shavings stuck to the motor (which would mean they're ferous...AKA are magnetic) or just sitting on the frame rail?

If stuck to the motor, I would look for a screw/bolt that looks worn (maybe one of the motor screws) or other signs of worn metal.

Brushes would NOT stick to the motor, they're carbon so they're conductive but not magnetic.

guess ill be looking over the screws, got that shavings out with a screw driver so they are magnectic
