odd. i've used my jr z9000t servo for a while now and it still works good. it was used for 5 years in 1/8 scale buggies. the guy raced it every weekend. i just replaced it with another jr 8711 and it's working great! the ol' 9000 is still going also.

1) were you running a external bec?
2) if so likely i was just a bad servo, get ahold of jr and send it in it should have a warranty

Odd +1. Never had a problem with JR servos. Have 8 in various vehicles, some are 10 years old. I can't kill them. Hitecs on the other hand......

I have a couple of 8711's and a couple of HiTec servos and I love all of them. I have never had any issues with them at all. One of the 8711's is on my 1.9 and it kicks ace.

X2 I've had one for two years and still works great.

Now I buy Hitec because I think they are a better value, but never had an issue with my JR.

I think jr is good. I still use my xs3 fm transmitter and the original steel gear servo that came with it. I beat the hell out of it in my tmax so it cant be too bad.

I have had several of each brand of servo. Both are very good products.

I've gotten bad servos from each manufacturer. Both made it right.

when It gets down to bang for the buck. The hitec 7954 hv is my favorite.

Which servo?

How did you have it connected?

BEC? how many volts?

I have a 6yr old 8711 running 6.8 volts now for 2 years. No issues. I only buy JR or Futaba after years of dealing with crappy Hitecs.

I love my JR9100T's. Burned one up in my nitro buggy due to my own stupidity and they still fixed it for free. Horizon has some of the best customer service I have dealt with. Took them less than a week to get it back to me, and that was during the summer racing season. Had a 4800T go for five years on 1/10 nitro steering.

I ran an 8711 and the only reason it crapped out on me because I had an external bec cranked up to 7.4 and the steering linkage was all jacked up.
