Default Controller Settings ?

Hello forum members
First I would like to say I'm new to the crawling scene so if I sound like a noob, sorry. Anyway I picked up a clod based crawler off E-Bay a few days ago and I'm having issues I need help with.
Electronics: Traxxas EVX-2 yellow box modded to run with single battery
Novak XXTRA Synthesized FM receiver (75 mhz)
Futaba Magnum Jr T2PEKA 2 Chnl Transmitter
Motors: No markings so not sure.
Anyway my problem is this.........Truck runs fine forward but has no power in reverse (barely moves on level ground)
I have been in contact with seller and he claims truck ran just fine before shipping......of course. Seller mentioned it may be a setting on the transmitter. I played with every setting available and no luck in getting any better. Can someone help with any ideas. I have also looked for a manual on the transmitter on the comp but no luck.

Thanks in advance

Check on the ESC. The EVX-2 should have three profiles: Sport (forward, brake, reverse); Race (forward, brake, NO REVERSE); and Training (forward @ 50%, brakes @ 100%, reverse @ 50%). You might be in Race mode.

I thought of that. So I did ensure that I was in sport mode. Here's the funny thing, I can reverse the throttle switch on the trans and it will be the same speed for and rev but it is still slow and weak. With throttle switch in neutral position it is about as fast as a stock Wraith going for but barely moves in rev. I'm tempted to just replace esc and rec and move on but that's a pricey gamble.

It sounds like you have the EPA turned WAY down for reverse.

This is the closest I found for a user manual for that radio:

Ok what exctly is the EPA, I'm new to this so I'm not completely up to date with the technical jargan. I have tried adjusting every possible thing on the Trans and still no luck.

Sorry....it stands for End Point Adjustments. Basically, they set the maximum value that a channel (throttle and servo) can have....

If it's not the radio, then it sounds like a setting with the ESC.

Now that I think about it, it sounds like you need to recalibrate your radio to the vehicle. I am guessing that it doesn't know when the trigger positions are...
