| motor question
if you have a sensored bl motor, does it run off those wires or do you still need to run the other three wires? i have a novak ballistic 5.5 and looking for a decent(inexpensive, but not a cheapy) esc. what would you reccomend? im not racing just bashing, thanks in advance for the help ok i think i answered my own question, yes you still need the other 3 wires. so now will a sidewinder sv2 work on the novak motor? Yea the 3 wires still power the motor, the sensor harness just tells the ESC where the rotor is in its rotation so it can time the power cycles. No the sidewinder wont run sensored motors only sensorless. I recommend the Castle MMP, not cheap but it is the best sensored ESC for the money. |

the sv2 will run it but it will cog bad like any sensorless motor. if you want the benefits of a sensored motor you need a sensored esc.

If you have a VXL esc laying around, they do sensored as well. Just pop the cover off the port to plug in the sensor wires. Works great with my Novak bl motor.
