The Wraith RTR is not setup to run 3s lipo out of the box. There is conflicting information on the AE-2 ESC (what the battery plugs into) about 3s lipo compatibility. Axial says 2 different things, first they say that it has a 2s limit then they say that with a external CC 10a BEC it is fine to run 3s. The reciever typically gets power from a BEC either internal inside the ESC or external like the CC BEC and there is no way that any RX that I am aware of would take 3s lipo direct. |

Not sure why you would want to connect a battery to your receiver. On the Wraith, the battery gets connected to the ESC (and external BEC, if you use one) and the ESC (or external BEC) will supply power to the receiver. Receivers normally work on about 4v to 9v, and the ESC's/BEC's put out adjustable voltage within that range.

Of course you need a charger capable of charging LIPO batteries, any old charger will not work. | |

PLEASE read as much as you can about using/charging LiPos before hand. You should not plug them in and just walk away like we used to do with NiCads and such. LiPos can be very dangerous if not charged properly. And yes, the balancer is just for charging plus you need a special charger for LiPos. Most LiPo chargers will charge other types of batteries but not visa versa. There is good info here on RCC and you might want to Google charging LiPos as well. You can't know too much about these batteries. |
