Motor turns and the inducted drag brake effect...?
 

Not sure how to word this question but would a higher turn motor have more or less of a natural drag break?

More, I think. At least of my two motors the 50T needs substantially more force to be turned by hand than the 25T motor, with no power attached.

The turn of the motor shouldn't affect the drag it will all depend on what motor and what esc you are using and a smaller pinion gear will give better drag break

Ok lets make it a little easier... :)

If you had to take the FXR combo's for an SCX10 running 14/87 gears, which motor would give a better drag brake effect?

35T combo?
45T combo?
55T combo?

Assuming they all have the same copper fill, drag brake will be the same.

I get asked this question a ton....there really isn't a difference I can tell. I've even had guys compare 35t arms wound with 20.5, 21, and 21.5 and none felt any difference in drag brake.

Switch arm blanks though, and then there is a difference.

Indeed, there is a much larger difference when using different armature blanks, or when comparing machine wound to handwound. Fatter wire arms do brake better, but it is very marginal and hard to tell in a rig. On a test stand it shows up though.
