Default Steering Help

Im having issues with my steering, hoping I can get some help, so here goes I have a Losi MRC and it will not steer it just twitches when I power it on. I had the same problem in the past and replaced the original steering servo with a upgraded Hitech servo and aslo purchased a backup at the same time as well as installed a New Castle External BEC, it worked great until recently when the same problem occured so I swapped servos and still had the same issue, and went onto installing a new External BEC, I also tried Re-Binding it, swapped out transmitters and receivers still no steering, the only thing I have not tried is upgrading the ESC and the battery to a lipo which probably wouldnt hurt to have on it anyway. It works fine going forward and reverse just no steering. I believe I have replaced everything it could be. Any Ideas?

Did you check the steering linkage for binding?

Since you say you've changed out EVERYTHING (the ESC & batteries are not likely issues), then the linkage is about all that's left.

Is the BEC through the RX or direct to the servo?
Did you try a different battery?

+1 to binding linkage... quick way to check it, pull the servo arm off and see if the output shaft moves as you turn the steering wheel... if yes then you have a linkage problem... if it still just jitters you may welll have smoked another servo. What hitec servo is it? I smoked two stock losi servo's and several hitec 225MG gear sets before I finally went to a full size servo... I have been running a HS-5625 for several years now

I have the hitech 5625 on it and my backup is the 225 I tried hooking up the 225 without connecting it to the linkage same issue that's what's got me stumped, I figure the battery should be fine it just came off the charger and it pulled pretty good forward and reverse. I have not checked the voltage going to the servo yet I could have got a bad Bec.

The Bec is a electrifly 5v to 6v output input 2-6s lipo. Since it not a lipo battery will that matter that it says lipo?

The BEC only cares about input voltage range, not the battery chemistry that made the voltage.

Since you ran the BEC to the RX, did you remove the red wire from the ESC to RX connection?? You SHOULD, that way the 2 BEC's don't fight. Just remove it from the connector & tape it up, DON'T cut it, it is used when programming some ESC's later on.

Is this the MRC stock ESC??

Yes, The red wire is detatched from the ESC and it is a stock ESC

I'm having this exact problem. I suspect the BEC in the ESC in failing, giving to many volts to the servo. I will let you know, after the results of my tests.
so this problem can be solved.
