| Spektrum receiver help
Hey guys, I'm trying to bind my DX3e to a SR200 receiver to go in my rally car. Now, the reason I bought this receiver is because I only needed 2 channels and on the Spektrum site it says the DX3e will work with DSM, DSM2 and Marine receivers. I have the bind plug installed, my ESC is plugged in, as is the servo. Both leads are plugged in the correct way as well. When I plug in my battery and turn the ESC on, the receiver blinks slowly twice, then goes into a rapid blinking that doesn't stop no matter what I do. It says to have the radio set to a failsafe (full brakes, neutral steering) which I have it to, then I press the bind button and it doesn't do anything. New batteries were installed in the radio as well. I dunno what else to do, so I'd thought I'd ask the electronic geniuses here what they think. My car is running an XL-5, and S200 servo. The battery pack is a 8.4v Onyx NIMH pack, not fully charged but plenty of juice left in it. Edit: Even with the servo unplugged it still does it. I always had trouble binding spektrum with anything but the bind plug and a 5 cell receiver pack plugged in, for some reason when I had everything else plugged in it just wouldn't bind, try it that way with the esc and servo unplugged and see if that works for you. I raced buggies and truggies for years and always did it that way ran a dx3r and the micro sr3500's

Just tried it, used the 4 cell holder that came with the radio. Put new batteries into it and it's still does th same thing, doesn't want to bind. Just blinks fast.

I've had a few problems like that myself. The rapid blinking means the rx is in bind mode, so you're in good shape there. I've actually had to hold the tx and rx just an inch or two apart an keep trying. It eventually took.

Do you think the problem is because I'm using a 3ch tx with a 2ch rx? Even though they are both running on DSM? This is from Spektrum's website, this is for the radio: Modulation: DSM, DSM2 & Marine Compatible with DSM, DSM2™ and Marine surface receivers. It makes no mention of needing a 3ch receiver, which I why I bought the SR200 because I only need 2. Last edited by canadianbacon; 03-28-2012 at 11:17 AM. | |

Haha sorry guys. What fixed it was me fully reading the instruction manual for my DX3e. I was trying to bind it with the tx on then pushing the bind button. But what I needed to do was have the tx off, press and hold the bind button and turn the tx on then let the bind button go.

Well, that's a different way to do it. Not quite the same procedure as my DX3C or any other of my Spektrum Tx's. Wonder why they decided to do it differently with the 3e Anyway, good you got it sorted. PS....I used to live in Moncton, many moons ago. |

Yea it's weird, but at least I know how to do it now lol. It's nice living in Moncton, but there's not a whole lot of rocks around here. |
