So, after afew key tracks were traced, i decided to just flash it...it works with 0.4.1. However, there are changes need to be made. The stock gt3b has a 3:1 divider to read the voltage. and i don't think this is so on the gt3c, as 3.7 volts is read as 9.5 volts. So i need to analyze psx's firmware and see how simple this is to fix, as well as dropping the voltage alarm down to 3 volts. I think i can calibrate the battery to its actual voltage and not worry about the code. But i'm unsure and i can't try with the 6 volt min low voltage alarm.

I'm vehicle less right now, but i'll bench test the functionality.

As of right now, i'm not thrilled about the enter button, its very unpredictable. So i need to tinker with it. It also seems to be working backwards, so maybe it was installed backwards which could be causing the enter button issues.

I still haven't traced the USB components or dis assembled the lower half of the case and the steering wheel column. But the serial ports on the stm8s are still dead ends, so i doubt the usb is any good besides for charging.

Too bad, that would have been nice to have functionality.

Thanks for the first look. Excellent that you're disassembling as it got to your hands

I've been tinkering abit today...i have came up with afew solutions for a hack kit. Same thing as the gt3b one, but afew extra/different pieces. So probably a small increase in price.

I still don't know about other mods to it, as the only downfall to the the thing as far as i can tell is the lcd, and that would require new firmware and possibly be a high dollar mod

Also, if your interested in pre-ordering a gt3c and/or a hack kit, send an email to gt3c@overkillrc.com . I'll explain details and pricing from there

I'll be taking pre-orders soon, email gt3c@overkillrc.com for details.

I think i can be shipping them within a month, and i'll flash them with good firmware.

Any word on the speed of this radio? I wound up getting rid of my gt3b because it seemed to slow to handle sc truck driving. If this radio is faster that would be awesome.

Same, however, the 0.4.1 code is being optimized to get rid of the most latency as possible

Some tests done by a member on rctech says that

Stock firmware avg's out to 41.3ms of latency

the new firmware avgs out to 72.8ms of latency

The fw tweaks thats in the works should drop it down about 36ms, and possibly some tweaks for the ch3 version will be able squeeze some more time ouit

These times are from the moment the trigger moves, to the moment the signal comes out of the rx.

The LCD is junk, worthless, its what makes the radio not as user friendly as it should be. It has 3 programmable characters and the rest are indicators

Yes, same functions as the gt3b

at this time, there is no aftermarket st wheel, but i'll be solving that issue if they prove to be a good seller.

I wonder why they change the battery to a 800mah on the production model, hmm maybe black and silver comes with the extra juice

cheaper on their main page

any idea what a spare batt would cost?
approximately how long the one you have last? if is 3-5 20min runs then that good on my book

so having the on/off on the steering wheel wont affect installing and aftermarket wheel?
