so having the on/off on the steering wheel wont affect installing and aftermarket wheel?
On my Gt3b, an 1800mah 3s lasts about 8-10hrs rough guess. Basically a month for me. So a hair under that would be a decent guess.

I would imagine after market wheels would be a problem since they don't have a hole cut out in the center for the power button.

The only thing I like about this over the GT3B is the battery. Not really a point in making a new radio if its still the same underneath IMO. I would have liked more model memory and a 3 pos switch and proper trim functionality from the factory. Do you know if this will replace the GT3B or just sell alongside it?

Right now, there is no aftermarket wheels and the power switch being there isn't the reason, the power switch can be relocated very easily. I plan on having wheels for both the gt3b and gt3c, once i get gt3cs in and selling and some funds saved up i will start up on the alum hop ups for these,

The new radio is simply a refresher, like a 4pk to a 4pks. Everything changed except the core elements of the radio, and even those "changed" but they are identical in terms of functionality. Te biggest change is appearance and the fit n feel. This radio is also lighter with a battery in it than a gt3b w/out

About the same as gt3b.

I'm still working on figuring out the best way todo this. I've tried afew different ideas, none worked out like i wanted them too. But i stumbled on some new stuff today while i was looking for other stuff (ain't that how it usually happens), i think i may have hit a home run so i have afew pieces on order to try out. Once i figure out the best way todo this i'll have more info

Well, not to rain on your parade, but a top secret source I know of has them for 50.90.

(Not listing it here to keep you with business and stuff)

Austin, did you notice if this transmitter uses a linear voltage regulator? Maybe it would benefit from the voltage regulator mod?

The power circutry is all smd...and i didn't see a dedicated regulator, i think its part of the charging ic. So i'm not 100% sure whats possible at this time for efficiency mods

Now, another interesting thing is that the wheel is not connected to the radio via wires, it has some gold fingers and pogo/spring pads. Best of all its connected with some very aggressive socket heads.

Yester I opened my new GT3C and the steeringwheel IS connected with wires...

Yea, they changed that when they had to fix the power button issue...does yours still have the slots for the circuit boards to fit into? I haven't gotten any of the new versions yet.

So is the power button issue fixed? I don't want to buy one if it randomly turns off and on while turning the wheel.

Of course, it will be hacked using the LosiKid hack kit. Just need the new headers for the radio since I have the discovery board already.

I am wondering about this too. I ordered mine from HobbyPartz. Hopefully I get the newer one.

Well, let us know when you get it. I like the controller but want to make sure they are shipping the updated one too.

I can see my son wanting orange (see his orange XR-10 build thread), I might do orange or grey.
