Default 1998 novak rooster......?

Hi guys. I got a wheely king that had a burnt esc in it. I have a old school novak reversible rooster. 2 questions......#1 will this old rooster work with the wheely king pieces......and #2 would the rooster be ok running on 8.4 volt venom racing 7 cells?

it should work fine as long as the motor is higher than a 12t

Ya i have no idea. The motor is a stock wheely king motor. i just dont want to burn up the rooster esc with the 8.4 volt batteries.

There was a time when the old Roosters were as common in Crawlers as Tekin FX-R's are now.

I think you'll be ok; it's rated at 6 to 7 cells with a motor limit of 15T on 6 cell, so a 27T on 7 should be fine.

Here's the spec page in case you don't have your paperwork:

Specs: Reversible ESCs

Should be Blue (negative) and Yellow (positive) to the motor, Red (positive) and Black (negative) to the battery.

Well, assuming that the previous owner replaced the wires correctly, you should be able to use a stock image of the Rooster to follow which is which as they exit the housing and get your wiring correct.

Once you figure it out, use some Red heat shrink to identify the positive leads for future reference.

Don't worry about the motor wire colors, if you do it backwards, the motor will run reversed, so just swap them. You won't hurt anything.

Getting the input wiring (pack to ESC) backwards WILL fry the ESC.

it should be like the others with one touch setup where you press the button till i believe it turns red hold full forward and the full reverse then back to not throttle and should be good to go but regardless heres a link to download page for their escs, the closest one if you scroll down to brushed is the rooster 12t
