Default possible esc problems?

I am inquiring for my brother about his crawler.

The rig is a exceed rc MaxStone 8

The problem im having is that i can plug a fully charged battery in, and the truck barely moves, the steering barely works. I've tried several different batteries to no avail, I've checked all of the connection.

I'm running out of ideas of what it could be.

Any help will be appreciated.

P.S. No bashing about the truck, i know it's not a well thought of brand.

Check the controller trim? I'm toying with a maxstone 16 and it came with the trim dials all the way down to almost 0.

What kind of batteries are you using? Are they charged and in good condition?

Two questions:
Did it run at some point in the past?
Can you check component by component with a 2nd rig?

For the first question, think about what has changed since then (usage, switched component etc)

For the 2nd, sort out
servo,
ESC,
battery,
Rx

one by one

by hooking it up to the 2nd (functionable) system.

The Rx won't work with the 2nd system, so use the 2nd system's ESC to power the Rx (through its built-in BEC/external BEC) and start with one servo that you know works.

Please explain "barely moves", do you only get minimal steering/throttle or full but it takes a long time to get there?

Cheers

The truck ran great in the past, the only thing that has changed since then is the servo horn, which has been upgraded to aluminum.

I have a wraith and another crawler that ill try that with.

And by barely moves i mean minimal steering and throttle.
