Losi MRC / Mongoose question?

I installed a Mongoose crawler set up in my MRC. When I power up for programming the ESC I get no response from the reciever. The first step is to hold down the ESC program button, turn power on and wait for solid red. I get that with no problem. Second step is to hold full throttle until light turns green.... Nothing, just stays red.
No light ever comes on, on the reciever either. This is the spectrum reciever and transmitter that came with the MRC.

Do I need to have the bind plug in?
Should the green light on the reciever be on?
I'm at a loss. I've checked and rechecked all connections. All batteries are charged. I've read all instructions. Some experience from others would be helpful.

My gut says the reciever isn't working, but I don't know how to rule this out.

Hope I've given enough information, hopefully someone can get me on track.

install bind plug..power up radio then plug in batt to rx.
light should fast flash..then when bound it should go solid.

make shure your throttle trim is at zero before you bind.

Maybe I missed it, but what Tx are you running? Do you have a spare ESC to test out the Tx and Rx. Best bet is to start eliminating things it can be. I have done silly things like plug in the servo wire backwards before. Spent 20 minutes chasing down wires before I realized what I had done.

That must have been it. I switched out and BAM! off she went. Thanks for the help guy's.
