How much drive time are you getting out of AA's? Are you using NiMH or alkaline? I am going to switch to lipo in mine shortly after it gets here and was going to use NiMH's until I can convert to use 3s lipo's in it.

Gonna need the 3s. The 2s you have is going to start out below the minimum voltage and only go downhill from there. The radio needs 12v or somewhere near it. Thinking about wiring in a low voltage alarm with mine to prevent the battery from over-discharging. I know that the radio has something built in to serve the same purpose, but I am too paranoid of lipo's to let anything happen, especially since the potential fire starter is in my hands!

with the new fimrware and the vr mod, you can run a 2s, the new vr has a min voltage of 6.5 volts

the new firmware also has a adjustable low power alar so you can set it to start beeping at any voltage

You need to edit the video to say not to cut the wires like that. You should always cut one wire, solder the connector, stick it in the plastic housing and then cut the second so you don't get arcing like that.
