is there that much difference on the holmes hand wound vs its machine wound. I was looking at getting a holmes sport mainly because it is more in my price range then the torque master pro. Now you all have me thinking i should wait a little longer and get a little better motor.

A sport or Expert motor can be rebuilt into a handwound at any time. They both have high quality parts, and are essentially the Pro motor with a cheaper armature.

I like it pretty good but eventually ima buy a homles Hobbie or tekin 35t motor this is just gonna do till I have the money to buy one!

If you don't comp that little rc4wd motor will do you just fine. Especially coming from a well used stocker. I think I've seen these for like $10 shipped on ebay. For a basher motor that's pretty damn hard to beat. (Well, with that being said... I'm off to the Holmes site to buy myself a matched pair of 35t torqumaster pro's)

BigBaller doesn't claim the cheap motor to be great in absolute terms, but good value at the price point.
AFAIK none of the "big three" mentioned above offer anything at ~$10.

There is no universal "best". The best for you or the best for him or the best for me are most likely 3 different things.

The market already has enough cheap throw away motors, why would they add to the mix?

If you're going to beat the living crap out of it, run it through mud and water or sand, and aren't real keen on maintenance, buy a throw away.

Rc4wd motors are really nice throw away motors. I ran one in a scale come that has a lot of mud and loose dirt and I didn't want to put my HH torquemaster through (I don't like destroying a $60 motor). You can definatly tell the differance between the two but, hell for $10 you can't beat it.

And please people, before you start saying stuff that is way off fact, try doing alittle research so you don't misinform new people. Anything can be rebuilt to an extent. It had to be built in the first place so, that means you can "re" build it. Now if its worth the time or if you can find the parts is what's gonna hold ya back.

In the end, run what makes you happy and most important, in your budget.
