Default Charger/Power supply box

I have always wanted a do it all self contained box for my batteries, charger & power supply. If I'm gonna do it might as well do it with style.

I picked up a Gens Ace iMars charger(DC only)

Next I "harvested" an ATX power supply from an old pc work was throwing away.

I have never liked the lipo bags yes they will stop flames but mine had developed holes over time and drove me nuts. A plastic tackle box was my first thought but in the event of a problem I would have a giant blob of plastic. On a recent trip in to our local military surplus saw the ammo cans & EUREKA!

So stopped in yesterday power supply in hand to see what kind of fit it would be. I never imagined it would be as good as this.

Basic wiring will have 2 small fans mounted to back of ammo can. Front of ammo can will be dremeled to accept power supply cord receptacle & front vent. Will have power switch & indicator LEDs and banana plugs mounted to the side.

Pretty sweet looking setup.. I have the Imars charger and love it!! For the $$.. It works great for my crawler batts and 5000mah slash lipos as well.. Nice and small ..

Lots of progress today. Want to add a removable mesh shelf to the inside that will protect wires inside, allow for storage & not hinder ventilation.

this is only a power supply? Most people put their chargers in the box too

It will for storage & sit on a removable magnetic shelf on the outside when in use and batts will sit inside.
