Default FlySky troubleshooting

Trying to help a friend who's having a problem with his AX10 / GT3B. The rig has suddently taken to severe chattering with reverse motion. Everything else seems to work okay. Swapping out all the electronics, one at a time, revealed that returning to his Axial RTR AX1 transmitter makes the problem go away.

It's not likely the FlySky RX, because he substituted spares. Seems like the transmitter must be the culprit, but we don't know if it's defective or if the programming could have gotten screwed up.

Reversed channel 2 and swapped the motor leads -- still chattered on rear motion only. Other info, this TX has been successfully used more than 6 months. Probably out of warranty by now. Other components are a MambaMax and the RTR Axial 55T motor.

Anyone had any experience with the FlySky generating a chatter, or studdering in one direction only? Any thoughts of what to check? Thanx for any suggestions.

Plug a servo into the throttle channel to see what kind of signal is getting through the channel. That should help verify that it is indeed the radio.

If it is, start with a fresh model and see if that helps at all. You guys didnt turn ABS on did you?

ABS was on. Turning it off fixed the problem.

He doesn't know how it got turned on, but was not on purpose.

Says to pass on "Thanks, you guys are great."

I'm having the same problem with my gt3b (not hacked). ABS is off. I have an AX10 with AE-2 esc, rc4wd 35t motor, TowerPro MG995.

When I calibrate the tx to the rx, it always takes a second to find neutral throttle. Also when I turn the esc on, it takes longer to sync. When it's sitting still, it all the sudden will take off in reverse about 1/2 throttle and I have to use forward throttle to make it stop. Any suggestions?

not the same problem at all... did you calibrate the ESC to the Tx? sounds like the ESC thinks Tx neutral is half power reverse....

yes the esc is calibrated to the tx. It worked fine before, it just started this a few weeks ago. I'm thinking there might be a problem with the trigger

Recalibrate...Just because you calibrated once doesnt mean that it will stay perfect forever, if you mess with your radio settings you can mess up your calibration.

If that doesnt work then hook a servo up to the throttle channel and use the trigger, see what the servo does and figure out if there is a problem.
