| Axial AE-2 Esc Troubleshooting Help
Hello there, My names Nathan and I'm having a problem with my stock Axial ESC, I turn the truck on, it runs fine, for about 10 minutes, then the ESC gets hot, and all 3 lights begin to flash, now I'v read about thermal shutdown on these things, but it has stock gearing, and the gear mesh is spot on, I'v taken the motor off and tried a different one " Thinking the motor had demagnetized and was pulling to much current" had that happened to me before, so here in lies my problem, I have no idea why this is happening, I'v searched here, scale4x4rc, URC, RcSparks, all the normal forums, but absolutely no info on what it means when ALL the lights flash, any help would be much appreciated, thanks guy! |

You may have 2 different issues. The LED's sounds like a RX issue. The heating sounds like an overgeared motor that is drawing too much. I would remove/reseat all the RX connections to make sure they're clean and solid. I would also check the drivetrain for binding, overtight pinion/spur gear mesh, lube motor bearings/bushings and go from there. You state you've used different motors & the mesh is "spot on", but check the driveline anyway. What kind of rig? Scaler, worm drive, etc.? |
