If you could only upgrade 1 thing, Motor or Battery? Right now I am running a Tekin 45T rockcrawler motor and a 2S battery. If I can only afford upgrade one of these with the objective being to acheive faster wheelspeed, more torque, and more low speed control, which should I upgrade? If I was to upgrade the motor, I would buy a Holmes Hobbies Pro Custom 45T. If I was to upgrade the battery, I would buy the same kind I have now (hyperion) only in 3S form. So which should it be? |
Re: If you could only upgrade 1 thing, Motor or Battery? 3s battery |

Re: If you could only upgrade 1 thing, Motor or Battery? Battery. Gear it down a bit if you need more low end control. |
Re: If you could only upgrade 1 thing, Motor or Battery? Hobbypartz.com sky lipo batteries! Work really well and are cheap. 3s all the way, and gear it down if you need more torque. I run the 3s sky lipos on my ax10 with a HH 55t pro handwound. |
Re: If you could only upgrade 1 thing, Motor or Battery? another vote for 3S battery. They'll be a big smile on your face the first time you pull the trigger full throttle with 3S. |
Re: If you could only upgrade 1 thing, Motor or Battery? 3S lipo and 25C or more |
Re: If you could only upgrade 1 thing, Motor or Battery? 3S battery with at least 40c rateing |
Re: If you could only upgrade 1 thing, Motor or Battery? Thanks everybody, 3S battery it is. And John, after this Tekin wears out on me, I am definitely replacing it with one of your Pro Customs. |
Re: If you could only upgrade 1 thing, Motor or Battery? As stated, 3S LiPO......if you get a small one (low mah) get a high "C" rating. EX: 850mah, get 45C+ If you're getting a large one (high mah), you can get away with a lower "C" rating. EX: 2000mah+, get 25C+ Capacity & "C" rating determine the punch you get. |
Re: If you could only upgrade 1 thing, Motor or Battery? Plan on an external BEC also if you dont already have one.Your esc will appreciate it."thumbsup" |

Re: If you could only upgrade 1 thing, Motor or Battery? I vote turnigy nano-tech 3s battery in the 45-90c. The 45c continuous is nice and that 90c burst is sweet! |
Re: If you could only upgrade 1 thing, Motor or Battery? One more vote for 3s. |
