| Need help reapairing DX3 - I let the smoke out!
I need help with my Spektrum DX3. I hooked it up to my power supply backwards and let the factory smoke out. Really, I heard a pop and then saw smoke, well at least a little. I took it apart and figured out what I burned up. Here is a picture of the circuit board with the voltage regulator. The burned up part is the little part to the left of the voltage regulator. I think it is a capacitor. Here is a close up showing most of the voltage regulator and the burned up part. Is this a capacitor? If anyone can repair this for me, or recommend someone that can repair it that would be great. If not then if anyone can identify what the bad part is, I am willing to give it a shot at replacing it myself. At this point, what do I have to loose? An advice I could get on this would be great! Other than don't hook it up backwards, I already have that part figured out! |
