Default Using TX as game controller

I just got my Flysky gt3b and it came with the usb cable for use with pc games. I downloaded the free version of VRC and tried it and was pretty disappointed. The controls were very difficult to use and I had to change the settings in the game numerous times to even get the controls to work. The problem I ran into was that the steering was either on or off and made it impossible to drive the car in a straight line, much less around a course. Was I doing something wrong? If not is there a better piece of RC simulator software out there? I would like to do this on days when I can't get out of the house and to let my wife practice without driving another one of the trucks off of a cliff.
