Default Charging a 8000 partially

I have a Hyperion EOSO606i that charges only up to 6000mah
My question is can I charge a Venom 8000 20c for a while, only partially?
I would only get 6000mah out of a 8000mah......right? Hell I'm good with 6000, my biggest battery is 3300mah.
If I did get a new charger, that could charge up to 8000, would I have ruined it by only charging it 6000????
I really don't want to get a new charger, I like this one I have alot, works great

The 6000mah "limit" is likely only due to the max charge rate. Thus a "1C" charge rate is limited to 6amps.

When you charge your pack, and the charger stops, note the mah put in and start the charge again. when the charger stops the 2nd time note the mah put in. The total should add up to ~8000mah if the pack was run to LVC.

No need to get a different charger.

I have the 0606i and you guys shock me. But I'll play nice and answer.

6000mah = charge rate of 6amps, have actually no bearing on the point of stoppage of the charger or the mah of the pack. It is Hyperion's new way of trying to prevent overcharging issues.

My older 0606i you enter Amps and Cells, same idea as what you see Mah and Cells.

You can charge a 850 pack at 850mah and get 1C. But you can just as easily charge it at 200mah and it will still complete the charge. You are just doing so in a slower manner.

Set it to 6000mah and set the cell count and start it. The charger will fully charge the battery, but it will take some time because you will be charging at lower than 1C. It does not just put in 6000mah and stop...thats not how any charger works.

Seems like a lot of people are having issues with these chargers lately. I don't have one but I'm guessing they can't be too bad to run.

Anyway, if you do hit the capacity or time limit, just run it again. If the charger is set properly, it should stop when it hits the desired voltage.

Thanks Charlie-III & binaryterror
just wanted to make sure. When it comes to lipos, I would rather double check from someone with more knowledge about chargers, & lipos than me.
Great info too
Thank you

& ik632, my only issue with this charger is I don't know enough about it & I should

Don't worry about it. Just read through the manual a few times and then ask questions. That's what we're here for. One thing though, one of my co-workers bought the same charger and his didn't come with the balance board, charge leads, or manual. When he finally got to ordering them and finding the manual, the one he got from the website was wrong and had a lot of typos. So, be sure to check and double check things because it's a very good charger with lots of capabilities.

No problem, most questions can be answered through the OEM manual, some manuals are better than others though.
