If you already have the hack kit, then you only need the header for his radio (and maybe the voltage regulator and bearing mod). I'd just do that. I have the hacked radio and a lot of people scoff at it but then some people see it and the capabilities and then really like it.

I did the VR and use high capacity NiMH batteries installed and it is very nice.

Sounds like he needs atleast 5 channels, so that makes the gt3b or the gt3c the only pistol grip option...could go stick radio.

I'll be ordering gt3c's soon

As losikid stated, GT3B is a very solid choice. He has done awesome things for this radio, and I'm sure that the GT3C will be the same way.

If he hasn't bought yet, just wait until LosiKid has the new ones in and just buy a pre-hacked one.

Imho, gt3b or gt3c hacked. I run a gt3b with the newest firmware, the VR mod, used a different VR then is recommended or used by most. Mine does the same voltage output but will do more amps in the hopes ill get lower temps and more efficiency when not maxing out the VR. So far its working great. Ive already used it for a good 3-4 times longer then before and im only down to about 10.5 volts on standard disposable AA cells. Ive also done a little mod to make the display easier to see, just take the polarized layer off the display and stick the side that was on the glass of the display to the inside of the plastic window on the top part of the radio.

LosiKid / OverkillRC will have them, the GT3C's. He has a couple now, ordering the 1st big batch soon.

Look over his website.

I have a Futaba 4PL and think it's the perfect medium between price and performance. It does everything anyone would need in a radio and has 4 channels. Extra receivers are reasonably priced too.
