Default Help brushless esc only running brushed.

Well I picked up a supposedly "good" used Castle mamba max pro esc from a member on here. When I installed it and a 2200 kv redline motor with the sensor cable and it didn't work. I hooked it up to a 5700 kv castle motor and still nothing. When hooked up to a brushed motor it works just fine. It is worth mentioning that when the motor arrived it was set up to run a brushed motor with the white wire taped off. So my question is this is this something that I can adjust with a castle link or is the esc fried. If so what other methods can I used to test this speed controller. Thanks in advance!

Yes, you can reset it to run brushless. No, you don't need the Castle Link. Head over to Castles website and download the instructions.

With all castle esc's you need to change the motor type in its programming either manually or with a castle link, you can just hook any motor type up and have it just work. The easiest way to change it is with the link and more settings can be adjusted with the link

Thanks to both of you! I have a castle link but I was unsure if the esc had to be manually changed or if it did it automatically. I feel much better now! I'll plug it in tonight and hopefully all will be right with the world again!
