It may work through the esc but I do not believe it will draw enough to work at its full potential.

Disconnect the power wire in the esc plug and tape it up, solder bec to your battery connector with the esc wires, plug everything up normally with the bec in the third slot on receiver

Here is best way to wire BEC direct to the Servo.

question on BEC

Note: The ESC needs a red wire in the plug to power the Receiver now unlike the earlier posted image.

I know at least three vendors here on RCC sell a bypass adapter. Costs $5-$6, plug in your servo, plug in your BEC, plug that whole apparatus into your receiver (steering channel), Bam. No pulling wires, taping anything off, and no worrying about the voltage to your receiver.

"Y" harness is from my local hobby shop. I'm sure it's easily available online.

You can get the "Y" harnesses from amazon- just type in "Futaba Y Harness"

I notice the diagram linked in response #5 does not connect the negative from the xceiver to the BEC & servo whereas this one does. Not sure if it matters, but I did mine as listed here. Might cut down on some noise/interferance?

I'm in the process of doing the same thing. So I would wire this up as so, and plug the bec into the battery? Where does the esc plug into now?

Here is what i did.

I adjusted 4 BEC to 7.4v then sent them to Heyok so he could modify them to be "no brainer bec" with dual output. Perfect for servo and winches!

Here is how they came back:

End results are awesome! Plug and play at its finest!

In the picture you posted, the Dean's connectors would go between the battery and ESC.
Just connect all the signal wires as they're labeled on that picture. Make sure you pull or cut the red wire on the connector that plugs into your receiver (in the steering port).

Then your ESC's signal wires would plug into the receiver in the ESC port (typically channel 2). You pulled the red wire out from the connector in the steering port, right? Then you do not pull or cut the red on your ESC's signal wires connector. Just plug your ESC into the receiver with all three wires intact.

Take your time, follow the picture you have up, and you should be fine.
