Default FXR Calibration

Just put a new set of FXR's in my XR10. The first set i could calibrate just fine. And what i mean by just fine is that the throttle and CH4 were but set to normal.
Is set however i had to reverse both channels to get it to calibrate correctly and then switch the channels to normal.

Is this common? I did not have to do all of this the last couple of times i calibrated FXR's.

Here is my set up:
Dual FXR's. One of has the red wire still connected to power the RX.
No External BEC hooked up. One less thing to complicate the matter.

I don't understand your question. Either you calibrated them or not, you are not very clear and concise with your statements.

It depends on which radio system you are using whether or not you need to reverse the channels, I do know that you need to reverse them with a Futaba otherwise they're not going to read any signal.

Other than some bad grammar...

So the first set (the first dual FXR setup) i used, i did not have to reverse any channels.

On the second set (the next dual FXR setup) i did not have to reverse any channels.

And that has been the case every time i have to calibrate either due to user error or fixing a buddies setup.

On this set (the current dual FXR's) i had to reverse the channels.

All i was asking was "is it common that this could happen?".

And yes they are calibrated. It was just in a different sequence than what i am use too.

Has less to do with the FXR's than it has to do with you motors and how they are wired.

or what radio system.

Is it normal? It depends. It is with my Futabas but not with my Spektrums.

Motors are soldered the same before the other two fxr's shit the bed.
Basically what I have is 3.5mm bullet connectors soldered to the fxr posts. Just unplugged, got two new esc's, soldered the connectors back on. No real major changes.

Curious how the radio that I have been using this whole time now wants to do something different than what it has always done.

I guess it's really no biggie since they are now calibrated. Just thought it was strange and wanted to know if anyone else has came across this.

I had the same experience today, to be able to calibrate the dual FXR's I had to reverse the channel. My setup was different then Knoja's setup, a breakdown:

4PL radio (new, first calibration with a Futaba system for me)
2 smashed FXR's
1 BEC
no motors soldered

I calibrated the FXR's individually with dual esc setup disabled ....

Does this by any mean will effect correct functioning ?? I guess not, but just to be sure I would like to know your opinions.

Other question, I still have to disconnect the red wires of the esc leads, will the hotwire still work with the red wire disconnected ? Guess it will, but I will have to hook it up to a lipo, right ?
