Default ???Possible BEC issues???

I am running both a shift servo and a steering servo through my 4pks. running the shift servo(Traxxas 2075) and was wondering if I should run the CC BEC at 6 volts or higher?

Im guessing this is on your TF2?

What I would do is run the external BEC direct to the steering servo and then let the ESC's internal BEC take care of the RX and shift servo. In that configuration it will be nice because if your steering servo can take 7.4v (or whatever) then you can have them set different.

Any internal BEC should power a shift servo and RX without problems, if you add a winch you would probably want to run it off the external BEC or even add another BEC or power it directly off the lipo if it is capable of taking the voltage.

Not along these lines, but nevertheless a BEC question.....

I'm running a Hitec HS5995TG servo wired directly to my CCBEC @ 7V and it seems like when it gets under a load, and sometimes even not under load, the servo just cuts out. Sometimes I can pick up the truck (Wraith RTR) and drop it and it'll start working again, which makes me think it's either a loose connector or a short, but sometimes not even that will take care of the problem. It stops working for a few seconds and then will just start working again like nothing ever happened.

Thoughts?

Ive never wired into a servo. Is there a diagram or a Video of how to do it?

1. Red & Black wires from BEC to Power & Ground wires on Servo respectively.
2. Signal wire from servo (usually yellow) to RX.
3. Signal wire from BEC left open.
4. And of course power and ground going into the BEC wired to the ESC power & ground in from the battery.

Best bet, too, is to wire everything up using servo connectors, that way when you want to program the BEC, you can plug the Castle Link right into the connector without any trouble.

That is the basic idea, you can pickup a shoft Y extension and through some creative cutting and splicing make it so that you can unplug everything and plug it back it...makes it nice so that you can get stuff out of the way if you need to work on something.

Basically just ditch the power and ground coming from the RX to the servo and replace them with the power and ground coming from the BEC. Some radio systems prefer there to be a common ground so running the grounds together may be required.

Holmes Hobbies also offers a plug and play Y harness that does the same thing...At $6 its hard to beat a servo extension costs $3-4 already plus you time to mess with it.

The way I wired mine required no cutting of any kind. You do have to pull the wires apart, but that's it. I used servo connectors to connector everything.
