Default Servo wired directly to a TX

Is there any way to wire up a servo so that it is hard-wired to the TX?

Just wiring it up??? I highly doubt it. You will likely need a way to convert the TX signal to something the servo understands. You also need to supply power to the servo.

Actually, you can do almost anything, but is the potential cost worth it??

Curious, why do you want to do this??

I am making a pole-mount for my GoPro that I can rotate. I can wire up a cheap TX/RX combo with batteries at both ends, but I am trying to keep the weight down, keep the wiring to a minimum and use as few batteries as possible.

I do have a couple of old TRX AM radios, what would happen if I soldered the RX antenna directly to the the TX's antenna output?

You'd have an RC car from the 60's.

I would NOT suggest connecting a TX antenna to a RX antenna.

No reason you couldn't use a cheap battery to power the RX and plug in a cheap servo to do the rotation..

Thats just gold!

Yep, you can do it using a servo-tester.
That way batteries would be only be needed at one end.

HobbyKing R/C Hobby Store : Servos and parts>Servo Tester

You could use the cheapest one and put it in a nice box with a knob for easy use.
