Default ESC powering lightbar ?

I have a micro sindwinder powering my winch right now. 1 button is set up as haveing 3 steps(slow, med, fast) for wind and unwind, another button is programmed for full speed wind or unwind.

My question is, if I disconnect the winch leads and attach the led leads can I run my chino light bar in the forward voltage position at full speed. Or will the rapid switching inside the ESC fry the LED lights ?

I am running 3s to the micro sidewinder staight off of the battery, no bec to it and a 4pl.

I am thinking of doing this for the occasional night runs as it would be real easy to fab a quick disconnect for the lights when I want them installed on the grill surround. I dont want or need them permanently mounted so this seemed like a quick and easy solution since my winch has a disconnect plug in that area.

I was about to say that it was a bad idea, and it may indeed fry the LED's... then I relised that PWM is the way you alter the brightness of an LED, especially in a tri-color led to make all sorts of pretty colours.
I dont see a problem with it

If the light bar will handle 3S voltage you will be okay. You might think to yourself that you are not going to run the ESC up to full power so that way your lights won't see the full voltage, but in actual fact, the ESC is switching the full battery voltage on and off, therefore the LEDs will see that 3S lipo voltage.

Thanks guys, you have given me the confidence to try it. I kinda thought I would be good especially at full throttle so to speak but was concerned about the way the esc delivers the voltage.

Nothing to lose I guess, it is just one of my campfire trucks, not the Nationals rig.

Hey CHINO !!!!! whats the warranty on the light bars...we could call it R&D
