I think you can run that motor with a sv2 sidewinder up to 2s, someone else chime in, i am not 100% sure.

I'd get a Brushless Hobbies 120 amp ESC. I've got one paired with the 3800 in my FOFF. They're around $60.

The LT4 replaced the last 120a version, its a bit better unit with a slightly higher price. Not much though, only a few bucks. More than enough to run that motor.

I just got an LT4 for my EXO, just installed yesterday. I think it was $67 to my door and showed up two days after I ordered it. Stan has impressed me with his products and service.
Looking forward to trying it out this week.

I have the 3800 and actually ran it in my Wraith for a little and in my drift car with my 120a BrushlessHobbies ESC. You'll need some really good batteries. I have a bunch of different packs and if I run anything other than the 40c 2s 5000mah pack it stutters with that motor.

Word of caution, the 3800 is pretty coggy but waaaaaaay smoother on the BH ESC than on the Castle SCT ESC I bought with it. It's almost undriveable with the SCT (I'm sure it's ok in a SC truck), but not usable in anything else. The BH ESC really turned the motor around.

By the way, what are you going to put that 3800 in?

The CC 3800 stinks in a Wraith but works fine in a FOFF. I run it regularly with 2200MAH 3S 30c. No problems with the BH 120.

Yeah, by a little it was pretty much a lap around the garage. Still, the programming on the BH ESC is super smooth. I noticed with the Castle ESC, it would make a lot of noise before going, then take off. It's like it didn't have a slow speed with that ESC. With the BH it starts up very smooth then starts going.

Right now the 3800 is sitting in a box. May pull it out and pair it up with the BH 120 again for the beach. Not really FOFF, but should be fun shooting sand rooster tails
