Default heatsink came off of my ae-2

So, While waterproofing my Axial AE-2 with liquid black tape the heat sink came off. Can I use artic silver to re-attach the heatsink? That stuff doesen't hard so do I have to worry about the heatsink comming off from normal running vibration? Or should I use normal heatsink mastic. BTW if you didn't knoe artic silver is a mastic used to couple a heat sink to a cpu in computer building. Just wondering what your guys thoughts were. Thanks again.

I don't have stock esc, but have had many different esc's....what held it on before and is there some heatsink compound residue on it? Most of those products are all very similar and should work fine, Radio Shack or Fry's carry's heatsink grease.

I had the exact same problem occur while doing the exact same thing. My solution was to use CPU thermal compound on the heatsink. I then used a couple of zip ties to secure the heatsink. Not too pretty but it works.

Figured it out. Found out artic silver makes a thermal epoxy. I ordered some up so we'll see how it works out.

The artic silver epoxy worked out perfect. The esc heatsinks now stays on on it's own and seems to be working better. The artic silver transfers the heat to the heatsinks more effintently now I guess. The esc heatsinks does get warm pretty quick now doesrnt ever get too hot. It was pretty cheap too. Ordered it from Walmart.com and got it in 4 days. Pretty quick considering I'm in Hawaii.
