I like my charger from Value Hobby. Charges and balances up to 6 cell lipo and charges nicd/nimh batteries. Power supply is included and it's $30 bucks plus shipping. It hasn't given me any problems since I got it 4 months ago.

Meh, standard 4 button charger, doesn't seem to be too powerful, DC input only (fine if you already have a power supply).

For the price Horizon's got on it, I think I'd pony up another $20-$30 and get an Onyx 235. Actually, I'd look for one in a scratch & dent bin somewhere (which is where I got my 230 from).

If you already have a power supply, and can get it for a smoking good price, then maybe consider it, but if you're buying something new, I think there's better out there.

what are the advantages of the onyx over the gt power charger from value hobby? I got mine for less than $40 shipped.

The GT charger actually does have a few more features the Onyx doesn't have. If I was in the market for a new charger, I'd probably gamble on a GT.
