Default Has anyone tried this esc/ motor combo?

I saw this in the Towerhobbies catalog. It's the Venom brushless motor /80A esc combo waterproof setup. Offered in 3300 kv and 4200 kv motors.
What do ya think? Is it worth the $$. Thanks.

Depending on what you're looking to do it could work. It doesn't look like it's sensored though so crawling and startup won't be any fun. I have a Castle 3800kv motor that rips, but startup is not smooth and it doesn't crawl for beans

I'm not sure about this setup, but it looks on par with what I had in my SC truck. You probably won't be happy with it in a crawler. FOFF might be pretty good though.

Sounds like it could work for you. Though, you can find some Castle Sidewinder SCT setups with 3800kv 4 pole motor I have for a pretty decent deal on eBay these days. Certainly cheaper than the $135 for that setup.

I'm looking at the motor and esc and trying to figure out who makes them. They don't look like the Castle ESC's people rebrand and doesn't look like the HobbyWing stuff that gets rebranded a lot. I don't have any experience with it though. I have only used Castle and BrushlessHobbies.
