Default telemetry

What type of telemetry would you like to have on a crawler?

How about interactive telemetry? So when a certain limit or something is met/broken/etc then the radio will do something. Like when you going a certain speed it'll turn down the steering sensitivity, or if the motor is getting hot it'll limit the max throttle input, or when the battery is getting low it'll sound an alarm. Or when it senses clod stall (via motor rpm's), it'll adjust the mix automatically to not have it, etc.

An*inclinometer*or*clinometer*is an instrument for measuring angles of*slope*(or tilt),*elevation*ordepression*of an object with respect to gravity. It is also known as a*tilt meter,*tilt indicator,*slope alert, slope gauge,*gradient meter,*gradiometer,*level gauge,*level meter,*declinometer, and*pitch & roll indicator. Clinometers measure both inclines (positive slopes, as seen by an observer looking upwards) and declines (negative slopes, as seen by an observer looking downward).*Astrolabes*are inclinometers that were used for navigation and locating astronomical objects.

How bout a way to count revolutions of a continous rotation servo to keep track of winch line availability on a winch for the scaler guys. Or maybe some type of wattmeter for servos, for curiosity sake.

Another idea I've had, on the esc side of things, is a way to change drag brake settings depending on motor rpm. Higher rpm, less drag... Less rpm, more drag. Castle said its useless, haven't tried tekin yet.

watt meter is possible...count revolution is possible, but i don't think a universal sensor can be made. It have to be built into the winch. I'm working with another vendor on a winch controller, may try and get something sweet in that aspect, although it be servo winches only, for easy integration.

I would like the inclinometer also, it would help with describing situations as well as bragging rights!!;)

So a inclinometer on the chassis? Want something on the axles too?

never thought of having them on the axles. I always remember the one on my dash in high school.

Having inclinometers on board is a great idea! One for tilt along the length axis and one for side tilt. Not sure I'd need direct reading though, on-board storage is sufficient.

Temperatures are more interesting to me though:
In order of importance: Motor, rear worm drive, front worm drive, servo.
Warnings at threshold levels individual for each sensor would be good.
Additionally being able to get numeric reading values, at least for one sensor at a time, would be great.

What about an accelerometer like the iPhone has?? Mounted to the frame or axles

why would you need an accelerometer on a crawler?

So when you drive it off a cliff, you know how fast it was going when it hit the ground.

Some sort of mileage device to record overall distance traveled in a days crawling.
In scale measurement of course

Gotta be able to brag about a 25 mile scale crawling trip adventure and not have it an exaggeration

So a mile in our scale is 10 miles rc scale?

This would be easy todo with the gps sensor...

Is the GPS really sensitive enough to correctly log travel distances (with twists and turns) while the crawler stays within a 1m square?
