Default brushless system

My brother (RCRaptor) has a 2wd slash, and he was wondering what speed controller/ motor combo form hobbypartz would beat our dads Stampede vxl 4x4 with a 7cell 5100mah battery? thanks guys, and remember, he is on a budget

thanks guys.

Depends on the budget. If stock with hobbypartz look at the ezrun 60a 8.5t (4000kv) combo for about 102$. For a little more $. I run in my stampede a castle creations mamba max pro with a tacon sensored brushless 3800kv motor with a gens ace 3s lipo and it outperforms the old vxl system that was in it

It should, Honestly a vxl in the 2wd on a 3slipo would outrun it if he could get traction. The pede bieng 4wd has a slight advantage but the slash has a better COG. It might outrun it on a 2cell lipo. Are we talking a dragrace or something else.

When I had my 2wd Stampede with stock Titan 12t I couldn't keep the front end on the ground. The Slash is similar, but slightly wider chassis and a little weight up front. I agree, the issue will be the traction from the tires. You may want to upgrade it to a Slash MT (Slash Monster Truck) with some slightly more beefy tires first. This will take care of the traction problems. Then a wheelie bar (Stampede 2wd one should fit, but check to be sure). Also, make sure to check that the tranny is the brushless ready one. That would mean that it comes with metal gears from the factory. Some of the brushed motor trucks come with plastic gears unless it says otherwise. Also, in your truck, the 7 cell NiMH is actually not a bad idea. The LiPo is actually way too light for that truck and I feel it needs the weight.

Thanks guys but I think he decided on a motor. Its a leopard 4370kv 9t brushless system for $60. Heard that that would easily beat that. But he might need a wheely bar first...
