Default Best deal going on a radio right now....

I have a ax10 with stock radio that has a range of about 10 ft. So I'm looking to upgrade.

I don't see myself needing another channel anytime soon so a 2 channel should do me just fine.

What's my best bang for my buck out there?

HobbyKing R/C Hobby Store : Hobby King GT-2 2.4Ghz 2Ch Tx & Rx (USA Warehouse)

Probably better to just save up and get the gt3b/c. Its not only one more channel, its alot more function.

GT3B or GT3C! Inexpensive and room for growth.

+1....hacked it's even better.

Next jump up is likely the Futaba 4PL.

I only use my rig for recreational use and dont see any comps in my future... so what advantages will i really see in the gt3, its not huge price difference but i dont want to spend 20 bucks that i really dont need to.

For 20 bucks more you'll be 100 bucks happier. The GT3B is cheaper now that the GT3C is out. I have the B and it't great. Many of the other guys have it too and it works great for them.

The 4PKS is a very sweet radio. One of the best on the market right now.

For half the money, I'm loving my Airtronics MT4. I ran a DX3R Pro for all of my race rigs, but got the MT4 when I needed better crawler control. My wraith has 4 wheel steering and a servo winch. The 4ws/MOA mixing is fantastic and very configurable. There is an analog lever too that can be assigned to whatever if you want to manually control an aux channel. Every switch, button, knob, and lever is assignable to whatever you want, and it runs a 2400 mah 2s Lipo that lasts a VERY long time between charges. It does everything I've wanted to do, and the telemetry works really well for watching your motor and ESC temps - especially when the ESC is sealed in a waterproof box. The receivers are more tolerant of low voltage than the Spektrum's are. I've never had one brown out or glitch.

It isn't backlit like the 4PKS is, but there are mods to light it. Receivers are on the spendy side too, but you can find the radio with two receivers sometimes - Airtronics did a promo a month or two ago and some resellers still have stock. 18 model memory I believe, instead of the 40 the 4PKS has, but 18 is plenty for my needs.

The M12 that is coming out soon will be a hell of a radio too, but priced around the 4PKS, so the decision would be harder. To be honest, I'm too chicken to go sliding down a hill chasing my scaler while holding a $500 radio

While I am a long time Futaba fan (my 1st Futaba was a square box covered in textured gold vinyl.....yes, I still have 2 that work....), I have to say the hacked GT3B is a decent radio.
This is not even figuring in that a hacked GT3B (with an RX) is about the cost of a Futaba 3PM-x RX.....sigh.....

Other than cost, I have nothing bad to say about Futaba........

I think over time we'll see the FlySky brand improve quality and get more expensive. We're already seeing that with the C release. I love the Futaba stuff, but even for my racing MOA crawler I like it. I see the guys running the Futaba stuff and they always stop and ask me about the cheap radio. With the $400+ radio I'd feel worried letting someone use it. With my GT3B, I let my 4 year old play with it. I wouldn't let him touch the fancy expensive radio.

The little extra increased price of c is to get the better quality, they didn't increase their profit margin (not by much if they did)....but all the distributors marked them way up at first.

Hopefully they stick back where HobbyParts listed them. $50 or under for the radio is pretty good.
