Default 2 MM's and a duratrax 8turn esc

will this work? and do the magnetic meyhams have to be broken in? if so how?

if the duratrax esc can handle 8 turn motors, it will probably handle two MM's ok.

all motors should be broken in. basically because the brushes aren't yet formed to the exact shape of the commutator yet and if you try to push too much current through them you will damage the commutator. i just run mine at a fairly slow speed with no load for about 20 minutes. then pull out one brush and see if it has worn down enough to fully cover the comm. if so your good. if not just run it some more and check again until it has worn down to the shape of the comm. hope this helps.
