Default Tekin 13.5 no low end power? Help

Hey fellow crawlateers, I was hoping you could help me with a question. I have a fairly heavy wraith with a mmp and Tekin redline 13.5 brushless. She used to be fairly mean but lately it seems like she had less and less grunt when bound up in the rocks. Now on the last run on flat ground in the grass if starting from a dead stop I have to pop the throttle to take off. Top end seems ok but bottom is crappy. I figured I have killed my little 13.5 (sound bagpipes here). It does run warm but not crazy hot unless I just didn't catch it when it did! I'm running 12/60 32p gears. Thanks for the advice. Ohh by the way if the motor is going bad do you typically just replace the rotor in a brushless motor doing this? Thanks again

It sounds like one of the windings in the stator are bad from binding it up. There is no reason to replace the rotor but the takins don't have replaceable stators like the novak ballistics so a new motor is likely in order

Can you check that with a dmm, using an ohms test?

You can not test with a dmm. The meter will show continuity in all directions. If you can see the windings look for one that has been hot(discolored).

My 13.5 Tekin is the exact same. I will take mine apart and see if there is a discolored wind.

I did. Tried 3 different ones, works with other motors and escs, but the Tekin still has no low end power.

Could be a demagged rotor. That is the one problem with the smaller roar style motors, if you bind it up and go too far on the throttle it can degauss the rotor. First I say look for discoloration on the winds, then you should have the rotor strength checked. If the winds burnt up you need a new rotor anyway.

Is it worth New windings and rotor if needed or just buy new motor?

With a takin motor you are going to get a new motor as only the rotor would be easily replaceable

I had the same motor in my wraith. I ended up damaging the motor. Mine is heavy as well. I sent it to tekin and the fixed it. then I bought a pro4 3300KV. Night and day power

I bought the pro 4 cause I have no patience. I am sold on 4pole motors. Me like torque I sold the redline to a bud and he sent it to Tekin and they warrantied the rotor. I magnet had bit the dust. Thanks Tekin for the pro4, I love it and my buddy I'm sure will love the 13.5.
