Water break in is not the usual way.......typically its the way done by people who don't know any better and watch videos of idiots on youtube who have no clue how to rebuild a motor, let alone break it in. (Rant over) That being said....3-4 volts for 5 minutes........check the brushes for full seating and even wear across the face. If they are not done, then run for another 45-60 seconds and check again.....repeat until seated. Later EddieO |

NO water....pretend you never heard of water break in. Just run them dry sitting on a towel or something.... Later EddieO |

Yes, seriously, no water! I would say a 19t could be ready within 3 minutes at 3v depending on the brush compound.

One more question for you guys. On the can, it said Sv2. Does that mean sidewinder 2?

There's no relation to Castle. SV2 was the cheaper machine wound SV hand wound motor. Best way to break in a motor? Floor it in a truck, under water, then let it sit for three days or more. |

Was the title for the cheaper version of the v2 endbell..... Knowing that, try to do 2 volts for 10 minutes or so....the v2 brushes don't like higher voltages..... You can't really check them as easy, but the above will seat them correctly. Water would of been a bigger disaster knowing they are v2 brushes. Later EddieO |

The v2 brushes Is the best brush system ever made.... You'll have to change the endbell for that, as all the sv2 methods I've ever seen are keyed.... Later EddieO |

Whats the standard practice on the springs, take a little pick and force them out over the lip of the brush tube? It is a great brush arrangement for sure, round and angled. My brushes are currently a standard rectangle style, they don't work with the V2 endbell. |

Exacto knife and wedge them in. Oscar showed me a trick to modding the spring to make it easier... I can show you at nats....its pretty easy. My statements about voltage and water were regarding break in...v2 brushes like a dry break in at low voltage. Later EddieO |

I already broke the brushes in, but now, it wont go full throttle, i think its just because the battery is dead, cause thats what it did when i had the 550 12t in it.
