Default 35t brushed on 4s?

So I am curious as to what effects my 35t motors would have on 4s. I have a machine wound integy and a novak rockstar 35t. I know that both don't have any circut boards. Thanks.

Shorter lifespan by a lot. And you will need to maintain them MUCH more frequently.

An example:

35 turn on 1S lipo will last a long time and spin at most around 1500 rpm.

35 turn on 6S will last a very short time and spin at most around 34,000 rpm.

Pretty easy to see what's going to happen in their future.

But if that's alright with you, you'll get more power torque speed.

I've been thinking something similar, I have a 55t in my daughter's truck and a 35t in mine. I run mostly 2S, but occasionally I run the 35t on 3S. Here lately, I've been thinking about bumping the 55t on some 4S to see how it does against the 35t on 2S. Both trucks are running the same gearing as of now.

Well here is a rundown on my rig to help better get wb idea of the use. Scx10 hpi rubi, overdrive front stock rear, hr trans case rr gears inside, mmp ccbec, cs170 steering, heyok/645 winch. Pitbulls. 20/87 gearing with each motor on 3 s. How ling do you think the motors would last and would you recommend carrying extra brushes? And what gearing would you recomend?

The brushes are only part of the maintenance. There is also the wear and tear on the commutator, the effect of heat on the springs and the bearings will wear out faster.

How long will it last, it depends, maybe a couple hours maybe more.

The general idea is when you go up in volts, you gear down. Get yourself a temp gun/gauge, check temps a handful of times until you get a feel for where they're running. I'd try 17-18/87. Just my opinion though.

Is its pretty much just the RPM that wears out brushed motors, or does the voltage play some part? For example; if you had a lower turn motor running on lower voltage, and a higher turn motor running on a higher voltage (making them both run the same speed) would they last about the same?

Doesn't the weight of a 4S pack upset the car?

Or are you guys running very small MAH packs to offset the weight?

The increase in voltage creates heat, which causes additional wear. You have to consider gearing, vehicle weight, weight in the tires, etc. I'm sure EddieO, JRH or many of the more knowledgable members on here can give you more specific info.

My rig yet on 3 s weighs about 6lbs give or take a half lb. The 4s if I'm remembering is a 2200mah. I run 1300mah 3s packs down on the sliders same with the esc next to the motor, that mmp is a pig compared to the fxr. Haha

I've already got an mmp in the rig.

Well 4s 2200 mah 40c with integy 35t 16/87 gearing went decent. Motor got a little warm but not too much to touch. Only ran it in the yard for a few min. Esc didn't get warm to the touch bit the fan was running pretty loud lol. Now as for wheel speed it wasn't a whole lot more than the novak rockstar 35t on 20/87... Not sure if its worth upping the pinion or not..
