so i did a little search, and looked through the sticky. is there a list or chart helping to explain the turn numbers on motors and how they relate to speed and torque? it seems the lower the number the faster the motor, or is that not always true? i know there are variables with gearing and such, and when we get into batteries and esc's it gets even more complicated, but what about just the motors and a general example? |

Brushed motors have faster RPM's with lower turns (a 35T motor spins faster than a 55T motor on the same input voltage) but less torque (a 35T motor has less torque than a 55T motor on the same input voltage.) More voltage = more RPM's. There are some comparison charts that "try" to compare a brushed motor to a brushless motor. Then you get brushless that show KV (how fast it spins vs input voltage) or "turns". I believe Holmes Hobbies has a listing of close comparison. Click the link in my sig. In general, comp 2.2 MOA's are running ~35T brushed motors on 3S LiPO. |
