Default Electrical issues please help

I just got a outcry duel motor esc and a couple new motors. Motors went in fine. The esc I don't fully understand and it's caused the rig to be quite jerky and unresponsive. I dont fully understand the setup mainly the bec. the 4th channel on the receiver is labeled 4/b does that mean that bec unit plugs there or is the reciver not compatible. Probably need to say new to the esc's bin running nitro so not so new to rc. I have a redcat super crawler. Cheep yes but a not a bad way start.
If anyone could give me some pointers on the jerky actions and the bec set up I would appreciate it

First thing to do (if not done already) is to calibrate the ESC to the radio. It should be covered in the manual (either paper copy or online).

As to the BEC, if you want the easy way, just plug into an open port in the RX.

The 4/B slot would be where you would plug in a battery for the receiver (as if you were running a nitro). Used to be that some of the higher end receivers had this designation because that's the slot that would have two little clearance 'bumps' allowing you to plug in the small red JST connector instead of having to go through a switch harness. Most receivers I've seen have the positive and negative pins on a common bus, so it typically won't matter which slot you use for a battery or BEC.
If you're running your BEC into the receiver, remember to pull out the red wire on the ESC's connector so the internal BEC doesn't fight the external BEC.

Can't really help you on the jerkiness, sorry.

I didn't say calibrate the radio, I said to calibrate the ESC to the RX.

On a lot of ESC's, it's:

Turn on TX
Hold full throttle
Turn on ESC
Wait for chime
Hold full reverse
Wait for chime
Go to neutral
Wait for ESC to arm and drive off.

Read your manual to see what you need to do. The manual also has troubleshooting for the ESC and may help you out some.
Maybe.

the outcry esc is plug n play, if your having jitter problems it would most likely be time for a new radio

Might be that you really need to adjust trims properly. I had that problem before and trims at 100% caused it and all I had to do was back off some. And really depends on radio and what trim adjustments you can make.

Ya I didn't get any paper work with the esc. I'll give the trim a go. The radio is bout 3yrs old. Could do for an up grade. Thought odd it would go after I swaped escs.
If the outcry plug n play can it still be calibrated or is it pointless

Hey, thanks for that info, I didn't know.

JM454, is this on a MOA or 2 motors on a single trans (like an EMaxx trans)? Are the motors new, or used?

Based on this... Outcry High Performance Brushless ESC it's not an instant reverse.
I guess you have this one Outcry Crawler Dual Motor ESC w. Fan & TurboBEC??

Does it still have the Tamiya battery plug on it?? If so, change it out (yes, I read where it may void your warranty).

Manual... http://www.killerkrawler.com/images/...structions.pdf , yep, it self sets up......

Thanx all for your help. I took an older 2ch controller and wired that up. Nice smooth action just no 4ws. I like the 4ws selection on the red cats controller but was lookin at that one from rc4wd (rock crawler 2.4ghz). The 4ws selector looked like a clunky slide switch. I guess what I'm asking is if the redcat lansu controller is fine or if I should upgrade. I'm not competitive not that I have anyone to run with. Mostly just mess around just see what I can do

Thanx again
