Default 1/8 scale motor with MMP?

Would i be able to run this motor with a mambe max pro in my wraith? Ive seen a few folks running T8 motors on mmp.

How many cells are you planning on running?

I ran a castle 1515 & mmp in my slash4x4 on 2s for awhile before they came out with the 14xx series. Should be ok but a bec may be require at higher voltages.

I say that you would be ok.
The HPI Savage uses a 2350 motor with the mmp esc.

With that motor the mmp can run up to a 4s lipo, running a 6s may put to much load on it and burn it up

sounds logical. but i thought as voltage goes up amp draw went down... my theroy may be off though. Too much heat? Ive ran all sorts of brushed motors in my wraith but always heat is my enemy.

There will be more heat with the higher voltage. As per the earlier post about the savage, it is true a mmp is powering a 2350kv motor but its only rated to 4s and the ta sc8e with the castle neu 2200kv motor and mmp is also rated to 4s

If you are talking things like a A/C unit for home, you are correct.
For this application, you are watts limited in the ESC. If you up the voltage, you lower the amps.
Try to over-do it and you get heat.
Too much gearing is the biggest reason for heat in the motor or ESC. Usually it's a person with a slow motor that tries to gear up to get speed (like a 55T motor but you want speed).

Thanks for the info yall. Im hoping to get big torque and plenty of rip to climb hills. And be able to do it for an hour or so without worry of toasting the motor or esc. So far ive had 2 21t titans, a vxl, a Brood 550 motor, and a 14t puller. The puller was the best but after a bit they got too warm for me to want to run them any more without fear of junking them. You guy think the 2350kv on 4s would survive what im going ask of it?

As for the gearing i ran with most of those setups was 13/90. Cant get it much lower.

Sounds like a gearing for the moon problem. I personally run/have run or fleet maintain (lol) rigs with 3 of those motors listed and minimal heat issues... >130-140f.

Gear by heat and things should be all good.

He says right in his post that he is running 13/90 in the rig so not sure where you get that from.

Have you run yours in an F-OFF style setting? Lots of load on the motors with deep sand and paddles while hill climbing.

Very well could be the application, light switch throttle is tough on electronics. An 1/8 motor on 4s may be the ticket.

3s would be the safest and 4s would probably be ok but I wouldnt go up past that unless you are running a motor in the 1000-1500kv range, even that is probably pushing it.

I guess it could be kinda a foff platform....kinda. Its a wraith with 2.2 cut boggers and goodies and its not exactly light with a 5000mAh 4s in it.

The titan 21t are ok. but weak low speed and crappy drag brake.

The puller was Awesome. but without 6s it was to slow.

The Brood 12t Stump humper runs to hot on 4s and to slow(for me) on 3s.

Vxl, no low speed, and when climbing if you rolled backwards doun the hill u had to stop before u could go forward agian. Like the power of the vxl motor but no crawlabilty.

Update. The brood stump humper died yesterday. 10 mins into crawling around at our scale gtg yesterday. Was running 3s and 12/58 32p. I figured it would survive that. So, the brood lasted a shorter time than the traxxas titan. :(

I run a mmp with a novak 13.5 4s in my foff buggy and stock ax10 gears and I'm sure it could handle a 8.5 or a 1/8 motor on 4s because it never gets hot. Just make sure you run smart sence on the esc and don't advance your timing if its sensored or it will cook fast.
