Default Beeper/Horn

So, I'm half blind, bored, like running my trail truck around until I lose sight of it and I've got a spare channel on my radio. What I'm wondering is is if anyone's seen a really loud beeper (like those low voltage alarms) that can hook into a spare channel and be activated from the radio.

I was thinking that if such a thing doesn't exist, maybe the driver board from a small servo or a winch driver could be used to power the piezo?

The Tamiya sound units are out of the question. WAY too huge. I'm looking for something about the size of a small USB stick.

Thoughts?

I could make circuit with a beeper that you could activate from a channel. Then you would have a horn you could blast at people. It would probably be in the $10 area though.

all you need in a 12 volt buzzer, a power source and relay. use the third channel to active the rely and sound the buzzer. but again i bet you looking at around 10 bucks in parts.

I was actually digging through your stuff over on Scale Builders Guild, because I knew this was your kind of thing. (Wish I thought of it when I was out there last week.)

I'm going to tinker with a cheap analog servo first and I'll probably call on you once I'm frustrated and angry with that.

Thanks!

I'll probably make a couple anyway to see how it works out.

How will you make the relay activate with the third channel?

Test 1: Servos hate it when you cut the wires to the pot. Very warm. Oops. $1.50 Chinese servo down the drain!

Next!

Just remove the wires going to the motor and put your load across those.

Here it is:

I will put it up in the vendor section in just a minute.

The specs on the buzzer that you see say:

Sound Pressure Level : 83dB @ 10cm

Jeez, you work fast. I've had enough time to melt a servo, have a coffee and watch half of a terrible movie featuring Matt Damon (is there any other kind?) and you've got product and video!

I watched The Adjustment Bureau. I generally like this sort of movie - little guy against the faceless machine, fighting for choice over fate, etc, like Stars Wars or The Matrix - but this one was just...flawed. Well, only as flawed as most.

So, anyhow, due to your determination to impress me with your superior electronics abilities and my general lack thereof, I'd like one of these little buggers shipped to me here in Cowtown. Shoot me a PM with some PayPal info and we'll go from there.
