It's OK, but on the heavy side (like all NiCD/NiMH packs compared to LiPO.)

The biggest issue is what plug is on the pack. If it's a Tamiya plug, you will have issues over time.

You may also have issues under high load with the pack (you may brownout the ESC). If you already have it, try it and see.

9/29/12, this post is what I get after a few hours sleep & then facing a 550 mile daya with a training session in the middle.
Sigh.

That is nowhere near enough battery for an 8.5 pound wraith.

I have no idea what Charlie is talking about, a 3S 1300 lipo pack is sure as hell not heavy.

I personally would run no less than something in the 3000mah, 20C continuous range in a Wraith with a VXL. That batt should deliver approx 60 amps continuous.

You could run less battery, hell you could run the batt you listed, but performance will not be where it should. The batt you listed would be shaped like a tennis ball in no time. If you are new to Lipo, the last thing you want is to tempt fate by over-discharging a small Lipo batt.

If I was buying a 3S for a Wraith with a VXL for myself, something in the range of 4500-5000mah range and a 25-30C rating would be what I would buy. Those batts should deliver over 100 amps continuous. The VXL won't need that much so the battery should give you good runtime, punch, and should live happily.

Now you can run smaller mah packs, but the C rating will need to be higher to still deliver the amps needed.

more Mah, more fun. 20 to 25C should give you some good throttle punch. i run tirnegy (sp?) 2s 6000 mah packs on my bronco, i get something like 3 hours of run time on average per pack. 1300mah to me just seem like a waste unless your comping and needing to keep weight down. if you bashing, no less then 3000 Mah like previously suggested. hell, venom has a 10000 mah pack for 100 bucks and i don;t think it too terribly much heavier then my 6000s

20c on a 1300mah is completely inadequate. 20c when your talking about a 5000+ mah battery is great, 100amps. a 20C 1300 will give you 26 amps! 1/4 of the draw. It wont last long, and will suck anytime you punch it.

My bad.....Saw Venom and thought "NiMH" and didn't READ that it was a LiPO. Thus, a NiMH would be heavy in that size and my comment.

No, LiPO is NOT heavy, even a large one.
