Default Servo winch controller?

Hello,
I have a three channel Tx/Rx, and a class 3 rig. The third channel is currently being used for a servo winch, but I'd like to free it up to use for rear steering. What other options to I have to control the servo winch?

Thanks,
Josh

RC4WD makes a wireless winch. I'd guess you could use the controler/tx from it.

Thanks - I do wonder if that type of winch controller works with a servo. I think the output is two wires (+ and -), whereas the servo would also have the third wire coming from it.

I think you can remove the board from the servo and solder the (+ and -) to the motor.

That's what you do with a Heyok winch controller...

True, but the heyok controller still uses the third channel.

You have a good idea though - 3racing makes a winch controller (intended for the 3racing winches). It only has the two wire output, but it has a button on it for forward-stop-reverse. Maybe if I removed the circuit board like you do with the heyok controller, but actually used the 3racing controller with the button, this would work out....

Another thought for you is that you could install a toggle switch on your truck that would let you select what your third channel feeds: Either the rear servo or the winch. Just flip it to winch when you need it otherwise leave it feeding your rear servo.

Another good option - thanks!

the wireless rc4wd winch has to have its own power source or wired in with the trucks main pack. doesn't get hooked to the radio system in no way. it has its own transmitter

Thanks man, I like the keychain controller. I think what I'm figuring out is that this controller, or the 3racing controller, will work because they have their own controls, but I'll need to remove the circuit board of the servo and wire straight to the servo motor.

Or what heyok said, which would be cheaper.

Either way, it seems like this is possible. Sweet!

they sell just the receiver and key fob for the rc4wd winch, id clip the plug off and solder it to the servo motor
